There are a lot of fun ways to play as a Death Knight (AKA DK); you can be a damage dealer or a tank. It’s all depending on how you spend your talent points. Nevertheless, if you want to achieve maximum level as fast as possible, there are several tips that you should know and I will share them in this WoW Death Knight Leveling Guide. Here they are:

  1. Focusing On the Right Stats

Everybody knows that to be able to level up speedily, you should be able to blast through your adversaries as quickly as possible. To achieve that, you should focus on Strength, Crit, and Haste with a few points on Stamina. The talent tree that you ought to focus for fast killing is either Frost or Unholy. If you wish to level up rapidly, I recommend you get one of them.

Obviously, you may also decide to play as a tank. In this case, you must focus on Stamina, Strength, Parry, and Dodge. Blood is the greatest talent tree if you’re planning to tank and heal a lot. Keep in mind that tank Death Knights uses 2-handed weapon instead of 1-handed weapon and shield, hence make them offensive focused tanks. Furthermore, you may also gain aggro via AoE damage.

  1. So, Frost or Unholy?

If you have played DK before, you know that Blood is used to be great for solo leveling due to its high survivability. However, it lacks the ability to kill quickly, therefore the other 2 alternatives are better. Depend on your playing style, you could possibly decide one of them is more suitable for you.

Unholy

With less survivability than Blood and less DPS than Frost, Unholy has its own benefit: consistent Area-of-Effect DPS and a permanent pet. The best way to play with this build is keep moving from target to target while dealing as much damage as you can.

Frost

Forst build is all about high DPS with crits. Your main abilities are Obliterate, Frost Strike, and Howling Blast. For this particular build, it is best to go with a 2-hand weapon for better hit rate. As a Frost Death Knight, you won’t have high survivability like a Blood DK or excellent AoE skills like an Unholy Death Knight, but you will dish incredible DPS.

  1. Gear Choice

As a damage dealer Death Knight, you should focus on Strength as it is a DK’s primary statistic for doing damage. Your next priority should be +hit gear; if you stick to my suggestion previously and get 2-hand weapon, you shouldn’t need too much of this type of gear. After that, the third priority is crit gear.

Also, keep in mind that a Death Knight possesses several talents that enhance your strength by a percentage of your total. Thus when you have to choose between STR gear and attack power gear, do your math first and see which one can provide you with higher benefits.

You can level up a lot faster with Unholy or Frost build, but if you are planning to tank a lot, don’t hesitate to take the Blood tree. You won't be leveling as fast as Death Knights that focus on the other two builds, but by utilizing an excellent Death Knight Leveling Guide, you still can get to the maximum levelbefore you know it.
