Why Perfect Fit Pleated Blinds?
When selecting Roof Blinds for your conservatory you may have looked at pleated roof blinds. It may also look like they may be the answer for you particular situation.
Generally they are cheaper than other options as they are popular for all types of windows (higher volume normally leads to lower prices). A great range of fabrics and colours are sold too.
Before you make the leap of buying though ask yourself one other question, "Do I want holes drilled in my conservatory"? Now admittedly this may not have been a question you had considered previously but now if you had the choice would your answer be 'Yes' or 'No'? Chances are if you had the choice you would say 'No' and it did not cost you significantly more.
Well you have this option with a type of pleated blind called Perfect Fit! This is a blind which has it own frame, meaning if you have 13 windows in your roof you will have 13 pleated blinds in frames to CLIP-IN to your roof. Yes clip-in, meaning no holes need to be drilled!
Is there a catch (excuse the pun)? Well the price is slightly higher but there are some other advantages too you should know about..... One question often heard with roof blinds is "how do I clean them"? With Perfect fit you simply un-clip the blind turn it upside down and shake the flies off! Then clip it back in.
Also, because each blind is in its own frame when closed it forms a pocket of insulated air, which helps with heat (cold in winter and heat in summer). Another advantage is that light cannot creep in though the gaps between blinds (as there aren't any) where as traditional pleated roof blinds sag under their own weight. See pictures for info.
So how much more do they cost - typically about 20% but shop around as you will find companies that will only fit these blinds (for the above reasons) and they have prices comparable with traditional pleated roof blinds
