LeBron James has been in the NBA since the 2003 season. In that short period of time he has received many different awards as regular season Most Valuable Player twice and NBA Rookie of the Year. He has also been named to six All-Star games and was selected Most Valuable Player in that game twice. In that time he has also been named to the All-NBA team six times and the All-Defensive team twice.
He has also performed well in the international games as he played for the United States in several different tournaments. While playing in the Olympics he has won the bronze medal in 2004 and the gold medal in 2008. In the FIBA World Championships in 2007 the USA also won a bronze medal.
His high school career in Akron, Ohio for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School was well documented. That unbelievable high school playing career led to him being elected to the All-USA team for three different years and the team winning state titles three times. Some of the high school games he played in were televised on ESPN2 and he was also featured on various national magazines at that time.
He did not attend college after he graduated from high school. Instead of going to college he declared himself eligible for the NBA draft. In 2003 he was the first player selected in the draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. That first year was a record breaking year in which he totaled 20.9 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.5 rebounds average per game. There have been just three other players since the beginning of the NBA that have averaged better than 20 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds in each game for their rookie campaigns.
Nike signed him to an endorsement contract in 2003 to wear their brand of shoes. Nike began manufacturing several different shoes that bore his signature on the product. He has played a role in helping them design the line that has his name on it. The shoes have ranged from low to high cut shoes as well as Air Force 1 line of shoes with his name on them.
His nickname is represented as king of the jungle, it is King James. The latest shoes in his line have a King James logo that was just developed. The line has this logo on the product in different areas so that it stands out quite a bit.
With his recent change to the Miami Heat from the Cleveland Cavaliers he has stumbled on new found criticism. As in true LeBron James fashion he embraced that criticism and elevated his game to new levels once again. With that he is also pushing towards more branding of his Nike line and continuing to put out new cutting edge products with them.
With him having many fans since playing in high school it is certain that his products will have a great deal of fans as well. Because of this fact LeBron basketball shoes have always sold very well. Since he is just starting his career there will be many new products that he puts out.
