Midwest Airlines is a small airline that is based in Milwaukee Wisconsin. The biggest news about this company is that they have started to merge with Frontier Airlines and are going to begin operating under that company's name. It will take about eighteen months for this merger to be complete (it began in early 2010). As is common for smaller regional carriers, much of their business is from business travelers who frequently fly for business purposes. Midwest's service destinations has increased from a little over 40 to close to 70 including popular locations in Mexico and Costa Rica. While the company is robust now, it will be even more so once the merger is finished.
Now that Midwest is merging with Frontier Airlines, you should probably look for the tell-tale aircraft tail designs peculiar to Frontier's aircraft. In 1994 Frontier began creating a different persona for its aircraft. They had the desire to be completely unique from other similar carriers. Around this time is when we began to see some unique designs of wildlife themes on the planes. This led them to a whole new advertising concept. Now there are around 50 different animals that can be seen sprawled across the tales of their planes. We believe you will probably see these added to the Midwest fleet after the merger is done.
Like we have said before, Midwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines are merging to become one company that operates under Frontier's brand. While the merger was instigated on April 13, 2010 it could take up to eighteen months to complete entirely. All aspects of both businesses will get integrated--from the uniforms to the computer systems that run the companies--it all becomes a single look. This merger is something both companies anticipate will keep them healthy and profitable for many years to come in the future. Especially considering the global economic climate, this merger is potentially a really wise decision.
There are a couple of programs offered by Midwest, one of which is called the Best Care Business program. Lots of businesses use these programs because their employees do a lot of flying for business. Award Points is just one of the things BCB offers--points awarded according to the number of tickets purchased. Another great offering is the Early Returns Frequent Flier miles that get awarded to individual business travelers as companions to the other membership benefits they receive. The Best Care Business Program is built so that both the company itself as well as the employee can benefit from it.
Where you intend to travel will ultimately determine which regional air carrier you fly with. It's important to research your regional airline for best selection of destinations. This is one reason this is such a great merger, the destinations will increase for both carriers. Midwest's customer benefits package rivaled even the larger airlines even before they were beginning to merge.
