You may think that there's only 1 way to wear a bridal tiara but you're mistaken, they can be placed in multiple positions and here's our top 5.

Position 1 - Across the forehead This position doesn't work for all tiaras but is great for wishbone tiaras, which can be worn upside down, so the V is the right way up. This placement works better without a veil. It's also unusual to wear it this way so you'll definitely be noted as someone who likes to do things differently.

Position 2 - The front of the head When I write the "front of the head" I literally mean right at the front where the majority of your hair meets your fringe. If you haven't got a fringe to balance up this look then opt for another position. This placement works best with either a full straight fringe or a fringe swept to the side.

Position 3 - Towards your crown The majority of brides will wear their tiara in this position, roughly half way back along the head. If you've not got a fringe and are wearing your hair down, this is the best position for you.

Position 4 - As bun wrap If you're planning on wearing you hair in any kind of bun, then this would be an ideal position to place your tiara. You will need to ensure you have a wedding tiara which has a flexible band so that can be gently bent around the bun and pinned into place with grips without resistance, you don't want the grips to ping off and the ends of the band to stick out from your bun. If you can't find one that you like which is flexible enough, try using a hairvine instead.

Position 5 - At the back of the head Yes you read that right, a wedding tiara can be worn at the back as well as the front, after all for the majority of the wedding ceremony your guests will be looking at the back of your head. Obviously if you're wearing a veil this isn't going to be a good position, so choose another.

So here are our top 5 positions for your tiara but many brides are unsure exactly how to place it on to their heads and try as wear it as a headband with the ends of the band sitting just behind their ears. Tiaras should be worn so their almost horizontal not vertical so if you're wearing your hair loose all you need to do is place the wedding tiara on your head and push the ends of the band down a little so the tiara is at a slight angle leaning backwards. If you push it too far back then it will begin to lie against your head and won't be as noticeable. If you're wearing your hair up, your hairdresser will be able to position it for you and will generally embed the bridal tiara within the hairstyle so the band is hidden under the hair and pinned into place.
