Ways A Kitchen Island Butcher Block Can Help You Stage Your Kitchen When You Are Selling Your Home

As a Real Estate Appraiser and Agent I am finding that more and more people who are choosing to sell their homes don’t have a lot of money for the necessary updates that the market currently requires in order to get them as high a price possible in the shortest period of time. The one place that has always been an important consideration for most home buyers is the Kitchen.
Any size kitchen can benefit from the transformation that a Kitchen Island brings. A mobile, well designed kitchen island can provide a focal point, taking the attention away from the flaws elsewhere in a kitchen. It can be one of the most valuable "Staging" tools a seller or home owner employs.
If the kitchen is small and the need is for additional work surface or storage is apparent to a buyer a kitchen island on wheels can easily add the necessary flexibility and mobility. It can be moved to where ever its services are needed – near the stove, near the sink or simply out of the way. It can also serve as an extra table surface when needed for overflow entertaining.
In a larger kitchen an Island can be a more permanent fixture or it can be mobile as well. It can provide the necessary work surface for preparation of a large family meal or an area for family and friends to gather around while cooking. It can be a great location for children to work on their school work and converse with the cook while the details of meal time prep are handled.
Additional uses for a Kitchen Island Butcher Block could be to help break up a large expansive, open floor space, serving as a divider between preparation space and dining space. It can allow the cook to see into other rooms, engage with family and friends, while containing the mess made during food preparation.
The kitchen is generally the focal point for either the buyer with a family or a young single who wants to entertain. Many kitchens are lacking in either prep space, storage space or overall functional space and a Kitchen Island can both increase the kitchen’s aesthetics as well as its functionality. As years of being in the Real Estate business has taught me, you need to have the "warm fuzzies" in place before you bring a potential buyer into a home. Use a Kitchen Island to help make the kitchen cozy and they are more likely to buy!
