You probably heard about it, but do you know the real story about the most famous vampire in the world? He is known as Dracula, but his real name is Vlad Tepes also known as Vlad the Impaler. He was the Prince of Wallachia and there are many names that describe him. He was regarded as an respectable knight, the Son of the Dragon, the hero who resisted and challenged the Ottoman Empire again and again during his rule from 1456 to 1462.
Nobody knows the true numbers, but Tepes is believed to have executed somewhere from forty thousand to seventy thousand victims during his short rule, regularly by staking. Stoker took these stories and legends about Vlad the Impaler one step further and created the famous vampire legend.
In order to follow the steps to check the true story, you need to come here, in Romania, to understand and to see with your own eyes how it happened. It will be a beautiful vacation for you and your family and you will definitely want to come again. Some locations that are included if you decide to visit are: Bran Castle which was his castle, Sighisoara town which is the birthplace of Dracula, Borgo pass which is the road to Dracula castle, etc.
You will also visit the Snagov Monastery, where some say that Dracula is buried. To visit you must cross the kilometer long lake by boat. The murder of Vlad Tepes is believed to have occurred in the forests nearby and then some monks took his body, since both Vlad and his father had given money to the monastery.
Before visiting his liar, you can view photos, original, authentic, copyrighted photos related to locations you can visit afterwards. There are a lot of photos on the internet, but none of them are like those, those are special because those were captured in forbidden areas, where camera is not allowed, unless you pay for it, so this way, you can see photos from the inside only by using your computer mouse. Easy job, right?
The Bran Castle is one of the most visited castles in the world. Mainly because of Vlad Tepes story, but also because it is a superstructure built above mountain rocks many centuries ago. Bran Castle was firstly a stronghold built by the Knights of the Teutonic Order in 1212. The first documentary attestation of the Bran Castle is the act written on November 19, 1377, giving the Saxons of Kronstadt from Brasov, a city in Romania, the privilege to build that great citadel. The building started in 1378 as a defense against Turks and later became a watch post on the route between Transylvania and Wallachia. From 1920 the castle became the royal residence until the eviction and expulsion of the royal family in 1948. On 1st October 1950, the Bran Castle was declared a historical monument. Today it is an attractive museum of medieval arts. And this is only once location, there several others.
There is nothing more exciting than visiting those edifices. I am convinced that you will find it very attractive and this can be the vacation you ever dreamed of. Do not waste the chance!
