Vacations used to be simpler to prepare before having kids. Back then, it was just two of us and the options looked limitless and the thought process simpler. You could choose somewhere for a couple's weekend getaway determined by its seclusion and intimacy. You could choose a location far away and exotic just because you had never been there before. Possibly your own best option was to go on extended hiking and camping trips with low levels of gear. Even if your vacation organizing was something other than this, whatever that alternative used to look like prior to having a family compared to now wanting to prepare a family vacation, it is really a different task now.

Now there are a lot more issues to take into account when traveling and planning a family vacation. Depending on the age and number of your children there is a whole lot of gear that either has to be carried along with you on the trip or rented at your final destination.
