Some would worry if bricks will add up to the heat of summer. The answer is definitely not. Heat travels slowly through the bricks. Thus during summer, the scorching heat of the sun is delayed from passing through the bricks thus provides your home with a cooler environment. The same principle is applied during winter wherein the travel of the heat outside your home is also delayed which keeps the inside temperature of your house more favorable.
Although using bricks to build your dream house may be a little bit costly. But, there’s good news to that. A brick house actually increases its value. It will not require frequent repainting, reinstallations, or changes just to keep it looking fresh and new. Provided that the materials are installed properly, it is guaranteed that bricks would need about two life times before requiring a renovation.
However, the same with any other types of house, a brick house also has its own set of disadvantages. For one, this type of house is not ideal for those who are opting for temporary residency. As what is mentioned above, this type of house is highly durable and so it is meant for permanency. If you wish to renovate your house from time to time, then using bricks is certainly not a good idea. It will be very costly on your part if you use bricks just to change is after a few years, although you can still opt to use it as an accent to your house. This type of material is not also ideal for people living in places where humidity is very high as it is prone to collecting molds.
To sum it all up, owning a brick house has its own sets of advantage and disadvantages. Your location is a major factor that you need to consider before deciding which type of house you should invest in.
