A good car is not merely measured by the elegance of its interior and exterior but by its level of engine performance and fuel efficiency. These two aspects of engine processes determine the level of control that drivers have on the cars in different condition driving conditions.
Many individuals who are in possession of cars always desire to get the best out of their cars whether in terms of fuel efficiency or engine performance. Maintaining cars that have poor engines can be costly and disappointing.
One way that you can use to improve engine performance and fuel efficiency is car remapping. This technology is a safe way of revamping old engines and boosting fuel efficiency, power, and performance. The advantage of this process is that your engine remains intact. Your car engine will not be dismantled and therefore there is minimum risk of developing mechanical problems.
What actually happens is that the whole work is done only on the ECU through a software program. Most modern cars are fitted with an engine control unit which regulates engine processes such as ignition timing, fuel and air intake and mixture and other engine processes. Settings for these processes are usually stored in ECUs in the form of maps.
During check up, mechanics plug equipment that reads the maps. Once they read the maps, they use a software to configure the best settings for a car. They then reprogram the car's ECU to the new settings a process which is referred to a remapping. The remapping process usually takes less than an hour to complete. This software can determine the best settings for your engine so that it becomes efficient in fuel intake and powerful.
The types of engines that benefit more from a car remap are diesel engines. These types of engines have greater gains after remapping because they are customizable than petrol engines which are less customizable. So how does this process of remapping cars benefit your car?
Well, a car remap on a diesel turbo engine will make it produce more torque. This service produces good results in diesel engines. You can fully rely on this process to boost your engine without much engine adjustment or even an engine overhaul. This service also works well in turbo engines depending on engine specifications. Once the engine is remapped, it gains more responsive power and torque. This enables the car to get more response in gear and reduces the need for gear change down when speeding.
On the contrary, this process may yield a little actual performance in naturally aspirated engines but the car will experience more power and become responsive even at high speeds. Those who are concerned about the reversibility of remapping will be amazed to find out how much better their car performs. Nevertheless, if they want the settings to be restored to their original specifications it can be done. There is no limit to the number of car remaps you can have, it all depends with your driving needs.
