When people talk about building a house, there are a lot of things to prepare and consider. This monumental task could prove to be very daunting to someone who doesn't have a lot of experience in home construction. Even with the help of a professional contractor, a lot of things can still go wrong with your dream house.
With all the things you have to take into account, let's just focus on the roofing foundation of the house itself. To begin with, the roof covering, made mostly of tiles and the roofing sheets (which is basically the deck underneath), form one of the house's critical shields of protection against the strong winds and rain. Most of the time, this proven structure combination will be able to prevent the usual weather hazards that might come along its way. Unfortunately, this protective layer is often the first to be damaged when going through a rough weather and, given the worst case scenario, it is also the first to be lost during catastrophes such as hurricanes or tornadoes. With the loss of the roofs shingles, tiles and other components, the house becomes more susceptible to water damage. The loose roofing structure could be carried by strong winds turning them into debris and fragments that could possibly do more damage to your house and other properties as well. But while the loss of the roof can make the house vulnerable to more water damage, the loss of the roof deck can really cause excessive damage to the house interior as well as other valuable possessions.
On a more casual note, installing plastic fascias and soffits should be mandatory when constructing the underside of your roofing. These plastic fascia boards form an excellent protection against chilly winds that blow through the roof as plastic won't contribute to the formation of ice atop the plastic soffits. Worrying about a decayed ceiling will be a thing of the past.
To give you a much clearer view as to how significant it is to have a working roof foundation, let me share a few thoughts about roofing mechanisms as it applies to daily life. On a typical rainy day, rain water hits the roofing tiles. Ideally, the water then trickles down from the tiles or roofing sheet and onto the gutter. Now, the gutter is placed there on the roof so as to draw the rain water away from the structure, in this case the roofing foundation. In my opinion, a working gutter needs to have a drip edge for this drip edge will prevent water from trickling back to your fascia board. Gutters that don't have a drip edge are like renovations waiting to happen. Moving along, the gutter catches all the rain water falling from the roof and leads it through a drain pipe. But most of the time, this is not what actually happens. In some cases where there is heavy downpour, the water can sometimes overflow from the gutter and not go down the drain pipe. This is just one probability. Any mistake on the installation of the roofing foundation could prove detrimental to your non plastic fascia boards.
With all that was said about the importance of a working roof structure, we can now relate and understand as to why plastic fascias and soffits are regarded as the prime choice in picking out roofing materials. Sold in almost every hardware store, these UPVC fascia and soffit boards won't cause leaks on your ceiling as these materials don't give way to water. Ever since plastic fascia boards were introduced in the housing market, it has been a staple requirement in most homes and buildings. Plastic fascias and soffits have paved the way for a much convenient and less maintained roofing system. Ask any noted housing company or professional contractor about their recommended materials and necessities for a reliable roof foundation and I'll bet you will hear UPVC fascia and soffit not far behind. With a good measure of practicality and an aesthetic appeal that rivals those of more costly housing supplies, as offered by plastic fascias and soffits, it is quite hard to imagine making use of any other material for your roofing concerns.
