I just bought this Hannspree - 28 inch HF289HJB LCD monitor this afternoon in the BestBuy. The price is $529.99 (the regular price is $579.99). Sine 3 month ago, I start to look for a bigger size LCD monitor to replace my old 22 inch Gateway LCD monitor. (I had my 22 inch Gateway LCD monitor one and half years ago, and it still works very well).

In the BestBuy store, the price tag of this Hannspree - 28 inch HF289HJB LCD monitor's shows that the max resolution is 1920 x 1080, in fact, it was a mistake. The max resolution of this Hannspree - 28 inch HF289HJB LCD monitor is 1920 x 1200. I double check this information on the BestBuy website, and also confirmed it with the BestBuy sale staff.

This monitor looks very beautiful, very larger screen, very classic outlook with the shiny black color. Compare with my old 22 inch monitor, this Hannspree - 28 inch HF289HJB LCD monitor really increase around 1/3 of screen size.

I checked the related information online, this HF289HJB model is the first 28 inch LCD monitor of Hannspree. This Hannspree - 28 inch LCD keeps maintaining a simple style, color in black, the model number is top left of the screen frame, and the logo is in the middle of the bottom frame.

This Hannspree - 28 inch HF289HJB LCD monitor performances a max 1920 X 1200 resolution, 2400:1 dynamic contrast, the 3 ms response time, and 160 degree / 160 degree viewing angle. And, it has two HDMI slots (one DVI-HDMI cable is included), and provided a built-in speaker in 2.5 W.

I use one DVI-HDMI cable (it was included in the sale package) to connect my new PNY 9600 GT video card (check another review of PNY 9600 GT Video card), the video and picture show the max resolution 1920 x 1200 without any problem. My Vista system recognizes that this monitor instantly, so I did not event need to use install CD (within the sale package). I tried to play game, watch DVD and some video son YouTube.com. This LCD monitor has very quick response.

Compare with my old 22 inch Gateway LCD monitor, this Hannspree - 28 inch LCD monitor (maybe, only to me) shows little bit over bright. I feel little bit unconfortable with this over bright.

This Hannspree - 28 inch HF289HJB LCD monitor is very good in the value vs. price. So far, I am really satisfied with this Hannspree - 28 inch HF289HJB LCD monitor. I hope that this Hannspree - 28 inches HF289HJB LCD monitor worth my every penny!!!

This Hannspree - 28 inch HF289HJB LCD monitor is made in TaiWan. After I turn on the monitor 11 hours, there is a "click" noise near the speak. I need to change another one today.

The second Hannspree - 28 inch HF289HJB LCD monitor still has the "click" noise problem after I turn on it 4 hours. And, the power button has problem too, I cannot turn the monitor power off.

Finally, unluckily, I have to return this Hannspree - 28 inch HF289HJB LCD monitor, and to buy a Gateway 24 inch LCD HD monitor.
