Summer is a time many people take there hard earned holiday entitlement, but choosing where to spend it is just a mission isn't it? The UK is home to 3 countries each of which has its own unique pull factor which could entice you to visiting them. One country you would be missing out on a great opportunity if you don't go to is Scotland, home of the Scottish people. The best time to visit Scotland is over the summer period. The peek months June, July and August provide the warmest months but are generally colder than the rest of the United Kingdom by 1 - 3 degrees.
All of the important tourist attractions and amenities including accommodations are open throughout the summer period as this is there peek trading time, outside of this it is possible that they might well be closed for business, most businesses are open Monday to Friday often Saturdays and sometimes Sundays.
During the warmer months the days are longer than at the opposite time of the year, this provides a good opportunity for you to enjoy much more of the day and relax in the evening without having to use lighting.
The Scottish weather tends to be mild and cloudy; rainfall in Glasgow for example is 44 inches compared to London which is 23 inches. This is probably higher due to the landscape of Scotland with many highlands and cities in the low lands.
Its recommended to go visit Scotland, though the weather might be a little unpredictable the most reliable weather is found during the summer months mentioned previously in this article.
Scotland runs deep with a rich culture and history, all around the museums, galleries and cities it is visible that Scotland is a proud country of their heritage, their people and the Scottish way of life.
Visiting during the peek times does mean that you are subject to potentially higher costs and it would be advisable to place your booking in advance as to avoid disappointment. Scotland as you might expect, receives a large boost in the seasonal population meaning that the guest houses, hotels and other accommodations fill quickly. Additional charges may well be applied also from some businesses for seasonal tourists.
Don't assume that if you come to Scotland that it is going to always be fantastic sunny weather, the reality is that most of the United Kingdom experiences rain during the summer, there is seldom a long period without any water. Bring your waterproof jacket just in case of such a weather condition, nothing worse than getting soaked through to the bone and having nothing you can do about it. According to some sources the west of Scotland has a higher probability of rain than the rest of Scotland.
