Our sensations bring pleasure to our being and soul. Just as the gardener loves the feel of the warm earth and the sweet smell of the soil, likewise, the woodworker loves the feel of the life of the wood and the smell of its unique odor. The efforts and skills of the woodworker are the results of the woodworking designs.

Woodworking is your passion and you want to spend the majority of your time chiseling and sculpting your project. Let someone else make the woodworking designs and plans. Spend your time cutting and constructing your woodworking project .

The real key to saving money is by eliminating wasted time, effort, and dollars designing plans which do not work. A simple solution is to invest in someone who has that talent. You will discover it is more economical.

Think back to when you tried your hand at woodworking designs and patterns. Did you encounter problems and difficulties? Jut so it does not appear that I am picking on you I will use myself as an example.

Steps to self designing:

  1. Spend hours thinking of a design

  2. Imagine how the finished project will complete

  3. Make mental corrections

  4. Decision is made; I like the design

  5. Make drawing s with specifications and measurements

  6. Proof and correct errors

  7. Purchase materials needed

  8. Cut out patterns

  9. Assemble patterns

  10. Foul language screams from my lips. What a mess!

  11. Review whatever can be salvaged

  12. Throw project into trash bin with disgust and anger

  13. It is a loss of time, effort, labor, supplies, and a financial disaster

Lesson learned. I am not a woodworking designer.
