Are you anxious to golf in Naples Florida? Naples is one of the most well-known tourist destinations in Florida, especially for golfers. Located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, Naples has many private courses, but there are a few semi-private courses that are open to the public. These courses are beautifully maintained.

Golf Club at Fiddler's Creek

One course you may enjoy if you are looking for golf in Naples, Florida is the Golf Club at Fiddler's Creek. This is one of the newer additions in the area and Arthur Hills was the man behind its design. It opened in 2002 made the Top 100 Residential Courses list in Golfweek just a few years later. The South Florida Open and the U.S. Amateur have both been held at Fiddler’s Creek. The Creek Course has been around for some time and recently the Preserve was added as a second course.

Valencia Golf and Country Club

Another option to consider if you want to go golfing in Naples at a semi-private course is the Valencia Golf and Country Club. This course has been selected by Golf Digest as one of the best places to play golf in Naples. The design of this course was by Gordon G. Lewis and it opened back in 1997. The fairways are open and flat and you won't find water to be a big factor on each hole as they are on so many courses in Florida. There are five different sets of tees on the course.

Eagle Lakes Golf Club

You may also want to consider the Eagle Lakes Golf Club located near Marco Island if you are looking for great golf in Naples, Florida on semi-private courses. Bruce Devlin did the original design, but in 2006, the course reopened after being renovated by Gordon Lewis. There are only a few trees and the layout of the course is fairly flat. Gusts of wind often affect the fairways, making some of the holes rather challenging during certain weather conditions. Water is in play on each hole, which is a big feature of this golf course. There are five different sets of tees and the fees for the green start out at only $39! They offer a golf membership for seasonal unlimited golf.

Flamingo Island Golf Course

If you are staying in East Naples, consider Flamingo Island Golf Course which is part of the Lely Resort. Rated with four stars in Golf Digest, this course has a great layout and the beautiful tropical landscaping that you would expect at a top-notch club. You will also find the Mustang Golf Course at the Lely Resort to be a great choice for your golf outing.

Other semi-private courses available for play include the Arrowhead Golf Course in the North Naples area, Panther Run Golf Club at Ave Maria, and Cypress Woods Golf and Country Club in North Naples.

Tiburon Golf Club, LaPlaya Golf Club and Naples Grand have challenging courses, but are only open to members and guests of the corresponding hotels.
