Even if you compare them with the laminated or engineered wood, because the advantage when you have a hardwood floor is that you can refinish them as often as you like. By refinishing your hardwood for a given period, you will notice that your floor do not only stay clean but also shiny as if they were just placed. The more refinish you do, the more that the hardwood becomes shiny. The best care that we must do to our hardwood floor is continuous care and maintenance so that we can maintain its shining beauty.
Homeowners can maintain their hardwood flooring by cleaning, repairing and repairing them. Many households today prefer to have hardwood floors because of the clean look that it gives inside the house. Hardwood flooring is relaxing to the eyes because of its nature effect. When we try to find the right company, we can search for keywords like Twin Falls Flooring, Elko Hardwood Flooring, Twin Falls Hardwood Flooring, Ketchum Hardwood Flooring, Sun Valley Hardwood Flooring, hardwood, exotic hardwood and other related words that are near to what you desire. The best thing about the presence of the Internet is that when you search for something, there is always a guaranteed result.
The number one element which makes our hardwood floor look dirty is dirt and grit. Grit and dirt especially if there are harsh particles in them can cause scratch as well as marks to our hardwood flooring. One must not frown when it comes to cleaning the hardwood floor because it is as easy as sweeping or dusting them can be fine. However, you should remember not to scrub the floor because it can ruin the smooth surface. We can sweep our floor at least one or two times in a week. The only exception is when there is family occasion that requires cleaning. Also, instead of sweeping the floor, use a vacuum cleaner so that the dirt and grit are just being pulled away from the floor.
Another way to clean the hardwood flooring is to mop them with a damp cloth or mop. However, you must check if the hardwood floor is shiny or glossy. The only time that you can use a damp mop is when the floor is made with a glossy finish otherwise; the wood will be easily ruined in the long run. Some homeowners make sure that when they mop their hardwood, there should be no water spills everywhere because it will only ruin the wood. They also add neutral pH hardwood floor cleaner as they clean or mop their hardwood floors.
Aside from those things that were mentioned above, there are still so many things that we can do in order to maintain the clean and shiny look of our hardwood floors. As an additional, in cleaning the floor, do not use chemicals like bleach, ammonia, dusting products and regular floor cleaner. Aside from the fact that these products are too strong, they can cause damage to the floor. Do not apply wax if the floor is glossy, or if it is already covered with urethane. As much as possible, we should avoid dripping waters to come into contact with the hardwood because they can ruin the wood in the long run.
Aside from cleaning the hardwood, there are also some repairing measures that must be done. We cannot deny the fact that no matter how we take care of our hardwood floorings, there are still accidents that may happen like water spills and burned floors and the like. Protective and care measures can always be done to maintain our shiny hardwood floors. If there are marks of burns in the wood, we can lightly sand the area, and the grit can be removed by using a damp cloth. After that, we can apply a wood putty to cover the area and then once it dries, we can sand them to look tidy as new and refinish it.
Many people will notice how clean or how dirty the floor is once they enter your home. In this regard, if you want to impress a neighbor or a family member, keeping your hardwood floor clean and shiny is the primary thing to consider. The best thing to do in maintaining a bright and shiny hardwood floor is to refinish them on a regular basis or for a given period. Any damage must be repaired and refinished so that we maintain its shining look. In some areas where water is always present, like near the kitchen sink, doorways, and toilet rooms, we need to put easy absorbent rugs to absorb water. We must maintain proper care and maintenance to keep the clean and shiny look of our hardwood floors.
