London Fashion Week has over 100 official shows, all of which require a great number of staff who need corporate housing during their time in London.

The shows take place at several venues across London including Somerset House and the Edward J. Safra Fountain Court. Although London Fashion Week is strictly a trade event, once the last model has strutted their stuff Somerset House opens for a weekend of fashion with many top designers featuring their wares for the A/W 2011 season. This bustling area of London has a large choice of corporate housing, including serviced apartments London – a perfect choice for anyone working at or attending one of the many shows on at Somerset House during London Fashion Week.

Each event takes months to prepare and a huge number of people are involved behind the scenes, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. During the four major fashion weeks, which take place consecutively, hoards of fashion insiders including models, designers, runners, seamstresses, journalists and organisers, to name but a few, descend in their thousands upon each city. Corporate housing is in high demand during these periods and serviced apartments London are usually snapped up months in advance to allow employees to be close to their place of work.

Christopher Kane is one of the up-and-coming faces of British fashion and as such has had one of the most talked about shows of this year’s event. His collection largely featured lava lamp-like collars and crotchet knitted dresses, which divided the fashion crowd. Some of fashion’s harshest critics seemed amused by Britain’s take on fashion, but American Vogue Editor Anna Wintour said: "I think that’s what’s so great about British fashion, they always have a sense of humour and that’s something we could afford to have a little bit more of here in the States."

Other must see shows of this year’s collections included a collection by Erdem Moralioglu and Holly Fulton. As usual, some of the media attention was deflected away from the clothes by the celebrities lining the front row at many of the most popular shows. Attendees included Kate Moss, Daisy Lowe, Samantha Cameron and Alexa Chung.

It was model Andrej Pejic who stole the most headlines. His androgynous look allowed him to model in both the men’s and women’s catwalk shows. The controversy surrounding him modelling women’s fashion has raged on throughout London Fashion Week and only enhanced his media appeal.

With London Fashion Week’s continually increasing popularity and credibility, some of fashion’s most influential people attended this year’s show, and the event is attracting a growing number of VIPs from other industries. Corporate housing and serviced apartments London in particular will be more in demand than ever before when London Fashion Week returns in September.
