Nowadays Greece offers you a chance to have unforgettable trip in time to the period when the biggest minds of our history were creating their ideas.

We tried it by ourselves last summer. For the primary, it was fairly laborious resolution the place to stay - on peninsula or on one of many many islands. Eventually, we selected Crete, the birthplace of Minoan civilization and accommodated in Minos Beach Art Hotel. Two first days had been spent on a seashore with its stunning and clear water. However being burnt by the solar we decided to have slightly sightseeing tour around the island. The three greatest native cities, situated on the northern side of the Island, are very interesting ones. Being inbuilt amphitheatre form they look like pure castles from the sea. As normal, downtown might be simply discovered, as a result of local church is always situated in the heart in addition to many coffee shops. But they, being quite good, weren't a kind of attraction we looked for. After we chatted with taxi drivers, they confirmed us a method to two important monasteries of the island - Gouverneto Monastery and the historical Monastery of Arkadi. It was an evening time, so we decided to go back to Minos Beach Art Hotel and start our journey in the morning.

We received a car and moved to the mentioned sites. After few hours of stroll in there, we went to Iraklion to go to one of the largest museums of Greece - Archeological museum of Iraklion with its breathtaking collection. It was good, however sun was strong, so we were overheated and compelled to go back to Minos Beach Art Hotel and refresh in its swimming pool. Appears to me, it was a really secure place, in case that there was not even a cloud within the sky.

The fifth day will be called as ‘Venetians and Turks’, because we regarded over many sites, especially archeological, that had been left by these two countries in occasions of their rule on Crete.

For positive, admiring history and Greek tradition, it would be an awesome crime to not taste native cuisine. With such ideas in thoughts, we went to Minos Beach Art Hotel’s onsite restaurant to attempt it and, I have to tell you, it was really superb and mouthwatering.

The following day was the one to depart, so we packed our belongings and left Minos Beach Art Hotel that became our second residence with sweet sadness.
