Admit it; the shed in the backyard is falling down. The roof has been leaking, the glass in the windows are cracked, the door is hanging one rusty hinge, roaches and other critters have made their home under the wet wood, and the last thing you wanted to see was a trail of chewed cardboard boxes and plastic bins. It is time to look for plans for sheds?
Down with the old and up with the new should be the new slogan for this year.
It is time to build a new storage shed. The wooden shed is the best solution for your circumstances. The old backyard shed stood there for almost a hundred years. You hated to part with it because of many family memories of the good old days.
Your old shed is not historical and it has served four generations and it is time to tear down the crumbling shack. Plans for sheds are now needed; excuses have been exhausted.
What type of shed do you want to build? What type of shed will serve your needs? Plans for sheds are not what they used to be. Many of them can have electricity and plumbing. There are many styles to choose from and within those styles there is an assortment of choices. The easiest solution is to narrow your preferences to your lifestyle needs.
People are discovering sheds add property value. You can try to anticipate the type of shed to be built which would satisfy new homeowners if you should sell your property in the future. If you are planning to continue living in your current home for a while, build a shed which fits your needs.
Review your lifestyle. Make a list, ask family members for their suggestions, recommendations and ideas. The list will help you to determine your needs for yourself and for your family.
Here is a sample checklist:
• Lawnmower
• Wheelbarrow
• Garden tools
• Water sports equipment
• Snow mobile
• Bicycles
• Land sports equipment
• Exercise equipment
• Old dollhouse
• Old trunk
• Auto and other motorized equipment and tools
Review your list. Make a decision what is to be discarded, donated or sold in a garage sale. Do shop for storage bins and shelving to assist with organization. It is worthwhile to do some window shopping to help with the decision of constructing your own woodworking projects or to purchase ready made metal or plastic shelving, storage bins, and other types of organizational products.
Types of shed to be considered:
Lean to for wheelbarrow, a few large garden tools, and garden hoses
Garden shed to organize plants, plant supplies, equipment and tools
Motor shed to house snow mobile, water sports equipment, bicycles, and tools
Tool shed
Large storage shed for household and miscellaneous items
