A good number of houses today are being built with bathrooms no bigger than a closet when generally they should be the same size as your garage. Many people today who are placed in this predicament often ask themselves "what am I to with this bathroom?" or "how am I going to make this unique?" With the new fixtures and designs on the market it is not impossible. There are even some old space tricks to make your bathroom look or appear to be bigger than it actually is.
Big or small, it is usually considered as your own personal get away place to peace and relaxation. Ideas for small bathroom remodeling usually come in categories such as: maximizing space, designs to have a larger feeling and creative storage space solutions. To start off with ideas of maximizing the space of the bathroom, adding a wall hung sink and toilet would be a good decision, replacing your bathtub with a tall shower or if not make sure the bath tub is small but deep, use wall mounted cabinets and a larger mirror medicine cabinet also mounted on the wall. There are many more ideas to have a lot of space but these are just a few remodel ideas.
Like it was said before, there are some old tricks that allows your bathroom to look and feel larger than it is which included ideas such as painting with light and cooler colors that present a peaceful and airy feeling. If you want to use wallpaper, make sure you use small patterns because you don't want the larger pattern wallpapers to overcome the space or you can use tiles with significant small patterns that repeats itself on the floor. The placement of mirrors can also play a big part in making your bathroom appear larger, with ideas such as placing mirrors opposite from one another, this does wonders combined with a lot a of lighting.
Also, if possible to do so, placing a mirror at an angle against the window creates an illusion another window. Simple remodeling steps such not over-doing the towel rack or avoiding floor rugs/mats or brightening dark corners can also play a big part in appearance. The average cost of small bathroom remodeling usually amounts between $5,000 and $30,000 pertaining to the amount of remodeling work needed. If your hiring a contractor to do your remodeling for you, even the basic small bathroom, full remodeling usually comes up to $8,000 but on the positive side it saves you a lot of stress and frustration. Doing it yourself usually adds up to $5,000 depending on what all additions you are planning add but in the end all the money spent would be appreciated.
