Save Money on Electric Showers With a Little DIY Effort

People dislike cold homes so things like Dimplex heaters made an appearance. Showers became more luxurious than baths, which is how we all eventually ended up with electric showers. In the end, even storage heaters soon became commonplace when before the idea of a storage heater was more of a wish than a reality.
However, just because these things are more familiar now than they would have been a few years ago, does not mean that they cannot be expensive. Especially if you have to hire someone to take care of installation for you.
For instance, having a professional come out and install an electric shower could cost you hundreds of pounds. But why spend that sort of money when you can do most of the work for free and just have someone come in and do the things that you cannot? You may not have the confidence to run the electrical cords, but you can at least prepare everything else.
Installing an electric shower is easier than you might think. The first thing you would have to do would be to mark very carefully where you want the unit to be mounted on your shower wall. Try getting a blueprint from the manufacturer so that you have a clear idea where it would be safe to drill. If you do not have a blueprint or cannot get one then just take the back off of the unit your installing and use that as your basis.
When you are prepared to drill, make pilot holes no bigger than a half an inch or so. You should have a copper branch pipe that was made to connect the water valve and the shower head. This pipe is what will be fitted through the pilot holes. When you have measured and cut things to the appropriate length, use a stopcock on the end of the pipe that is behind the wall of the shower. Make sure that the arrow of the stopcock is aimed away from the main valve.
To the rising main, attach the T-joint. Once that is done, tighten the cap nuts by hand. Your goal is to eventually connect the T-joint to the stopcock. If you have to cut an extra piece of pipe to accomplish that then do so. When all of that is finished, make sure that the branch pipe is joined to the main valve and that the cap nuts and other important joints are as tight as you can make them.
After all of that is completed, you can then mount the showerhead to the branch pipe. And remember those pilot holes? You will want to attach the shower unit box to them on the side of the showerhead where they were placed. Then you can put o the flexible spray hose to the shower head and unit.
When you want to install the electrical part of the electric shower, you will have to use more detailed instructions. Be sure to follow these instructions to the letter because when you are dealing with a combination of water and electricity anything could go wrong. You will not have to install all of your new devices however. Most of them will already be ready to go. Say for instance that you decided to buy a heater from Dimplex. Dimplex heaters are famous for their slim efficiency and these heaters are so easy to use that all you will need to do is plug it in a press a button.
The same goes for a storage heater. Creda storage heaters are the leading in the market mainly because of their ease of use and simple set-up process. Think sensors and you will understand. Remember that just because we live in more advanced times, it does not have to mean that your comfort has to become complicated. There is always a way to take care of the easier things yourself for more involved projects. But for everything else, all the hard work has already been done for you. Which means that in the end, there is really no excuse for person to have to do without one of the many upgrades that are available to the public today. It would be like having to heat your water up over an open flame in order to take a hot bath when everyone else has moved on to bigger and better things. With a new age on the horizon, you do not want to be stuck in the dark ages.
