Another good way to save money on home appliances is to buy appliances that have Energy Star approval. Energy Star labels indicate that the appliance meets federal standards on energy efficiency. In some industries, for example plasma TV’s, manufacturers have been able to reduce energy consumption by up to twenty-five percent year-to-year. With improved manufacturing techniques new products can operate much more efficiently.

Get a Checkup

Electric Service Arizona recommends that you do not run dryers, washers, ovens, or dishwashers during the day when the house is already hot from the sun. Running appliances creates a tremendous amount of heat which just makes your air conditioner work harder. Save your chores till the sun goes down. Throw in a load of laundry and watch your favorite TV show--by the time the show is over you are done!

Seal it with a Kiss

Electric AZ research show that many homes can lose up to twenty percent of their heat through leaky doors and windows. Buy inexpensive weather-stripping and plug those leaky areas. Also, take a look at your insulation—you might that is has diminished over time. In some cases insulation materials are eligible for energy efficiency tax credits from the federal government.
