The bathrooms are the integral part of the house as they provide an individual extreme privacy. The bathrooms have emerged as a crucial style statement. In beautifying this area the tiles play a key role. The market is flooded with the variety of bathroom tiles like marble, granite, porcelain tiles and many more. One such popular variety is Travertine tiles, made up of limestone. Travertine is a sedimentary rock formed by the evaporation of water in pools of hot springs
The Travertine tiles are utilized for several purposes like flooring, wall covering, building, showers, baths and outer tops. Being a durable material they are used for several applications. The Travertine tiles are available in a variety of colors ivory, beige, walnut or gold. Depending upon the personal choice one can choose lighter shade, darker one or combination of two.
The travertine tiles are basically porous in nature, so many believe that it is not good option for the bathrooms. But it depends upon the type of the Travertine tiles selected for the bathroom. The best Travertine tiles are either the tumble finish tile or the horn finished one. These types of the tiles are long lasting and look graceful in the bathroom.
The Travertine tiles basically offers three type of surfaces the tumbled, polished and honed. The tumbled surfaces are having rough texture and a lot of pores. The tumbled have the most organic finish and the surface will be not shiny at all. This tile can be used for any purpose. But in the case of honed tiles the surface is smooth and has a dull appearance. The surface will be having a finished look without having highly reflected shine. The horned tiles are best suited to the walls of the bathroom. If you are looking for the shiny tile then the polished tile is the most appropriate for you. This type of tile can be used for the floor and around the shower. Besides, this shiny surface will give a natural light to the bathroom.
Moreover, the Travertine mosaic tiles are easy to maintain. The spots of soap or water will not appear on the surface as in the case of other tiles. When needed one can easily wipe out and the tiles will always look new, vibrant and beautiful as the first time it was installed. With the Travertine tiles your bathroom will be the prettiest room in your house.
