Two of the most important parts of the New Pentax K7 DSLR is it's incredible weather-proofing, and that capacity for HD Video Capture. I have probably not mentioned a lot about either function in earlier articles because I am not really that great of a video photographer and I certainly do not do expeditions to the Arctic or anything like that, but perhaps I neglected them as a result of I never use these functions. How inconsiderate of me, I apologise! Sorry I'm so ordinary.

Anyway. Right here is my take.

The Pentax K7 like the K20D, affords what can only be described as exceptional weather-proofing, unlike the D90 which does not have any and the Canon 50D which has water proofing which is ineffective.

,

With the K7, even your low price range equipment lenses such as the 18-55 standard range and 50-200 tele lens can be correctly weather-sealed with Pentax's superior climate proofing system, this means you could even use it in near arctic situations, as it can function down at 14 degrees fahrenheit (-10C), in comparison with just 32F/0C with other supposedly "weather-sealed" cameras on the market.

Even cameras like Canon’s 1Ds and Nikon’s D3 are nowhere near the K7 when it comes to this level of functionality. This means of course that it is a super DSLR in the more extreme travel conditions, where even probably the most rugged "pro" bodies can typically experience high failure rates.

Not so with the Pentax K7. It's up for just about anything.

Not only that, but as I already talked about earlier, it's going to also do an unbelievable job of video capture in those situations too, which is a really awesome feature. The K7 beats out just about everyone of the competition in the midrange market part of the DSLR market, though the others as is the norm will try to play catch up, as all the copy cats get in on the Pentax's action.

Pentax seems to be doing video better than everyone else and that's past argument. The K7 supports your normal 1280×720p, 30fps HD, and includes a jack for an exterior microphone which you will not get with any of the other the bottom-end video-capable DSLRs.

By the way this implies you could have top of the range sound in stereo if you happen to want. Brilliantly, the K7 makes use of the total area of the sensor and gives a 1536×1024, giving 3:2 ratio mode , instead of wasting a sixth of your frame size like every different digital does when shooting a 16:9 video.

Full credit to the Pentax K7 designers for thinking ahead of the curve.

One other great function in video capture is the K7’s sensor-primarily based image stabilization system, which makes the Pentax K7 DSLR a digicam that will give you great results. This will all the time assist guys like me who perhaps have shaking hands that come as standard. I've to say since starting to use the Pentax K7 DSLR, I've definitely seen an enormous difference. You'll discover it in the reduction of the number of snaps you will be deleting after a session. That is where it really matters.
