February is already here and that means Saint Valentines will be remembered again. It is also the time to love and show some love. Well, I’m not going to define love here as there is no exact definition on it. Let’s just talk about Valentines. Valentines, as others will say, is the particular part of the year that people express their love in to the higher level. Why would I say higher level? Higher level because majority of us highly consider that people who show their concerns and love during Valentines are really sweet.
Valentine’s Day is not just about lovers or boyfriends and girlfriends; it is for everybody, young or old. Everybody can greet each other Happy Valentine’s Day even if you do not know that person very well.
Customized Valentines cards were given traditionally during February, that is before web-based greeting cards were established. However, when Friendster, Facebook, and other social networking websites boomed, Valentines card has lessen its essence and popularity. If you would ask me what will I chose, I will rather select customized Valentines card than to receive messages or greetings through text or the internet. Yes, you might say I’m old fashioned, but you know what? Efforts in making Valentines cards depict how much other people love you. It is more thoughtful and sweeter.
I recall when I was still an elementary student, I guess I was still 8 or 9 years old, our teachers always assign us to create Valentines card for our parents or loved ones when February comes. I was having the great time of my life in making those things from scrapbook supplies because I was able to express how much I love my parents. (I’m having this little shyness inside me when I’m saying I love you to them personally). I’m having the goose bumps when I saw how happy my parents were in receiving a simple Valentines card from me. I’m somewhat fulfilled if I saw smiles and their faces.
A simple way on how to make your Valentines more meaningful is through scrapbooking. Scrapbook supplies are great if you know how to combine them creatively. You can use markers with various colors to create a drawing. Write your favorite quote or quotes on the card to make your loved ones happy. Glitters can also be good to highlight your card. If you are not good in drawing then make use of stickers or cut out pictures.
