Taking the matter seriously, I must say that plumbing is not limited to unclogging sinks and the like. Leaks, pipes, fixtures - these are just some of the many things to be considered, and these are too much for me. And so, when I had my house constructed, I had to hire professional plumbing contractors to do things for me - even the simple process of installing the facet.
There is one thing I can proudly say: in the realm of domestic chores, plumbing tops the list of my all time favourite domestic emergency task. Charge it to my partly to my childhood fascination on the licensed plumbing contractors animation Super Mario Brothers, and wholly to my inert urge to de-clog pipes.
Why do I have to tell you the extremes of my favourite chore? It's because I just want to point out that plumbing is something both simple and complicated, easy and hard. But no matter to which extreme this task would swing, I must say that the trick of the trade could well be quality equipment. And this, I mean for all home owners who opt to take things for themselves due to practical reasons.
Practicality-wise, I'd say that doing the plumbing tasks on your own is much better than hiring a skilled man to do the job for you. Times are hard, and money is getting harder and harder to earn, and because of this, we do what we can do instead of hiring somebody else to perform as task for you. Advantage: it's much much cheaper. Disadvantage: we aren't licensed plumbing contractors all we know in plumbing is to unclog the clogged and patch the leaks.
On the other hand, the friendly plumber in our neighborhood knows everything there is in the trade. They've earned the skill, and they get paid for fixing the pipes. And because of this, don't you think we got to be fair and square to him, and give him the amount that his task merits?
So, if you opt to choose the first scenario, there is one thing that you have to highly consider, Get the best tools of the trade.
However, best is such a relative word. When I say "the best tool", I don't mean this is the most expensive and the strongest of all gadgets. The best tool for me, is that which provides so much efficiency to the inexperienced user besides being inexpensive.
Perhaps, it is the better option: to invest much on licensed plumbing contractors tools rather than on skilled service men. I should immediately check my repair cranny now.
