The Desire S is genuinely a touch display Smartphone which comes with a breathtaking user interface & the Android version 2.3 operating system.
The design will be familiar to anyone who's played with or owned its previous incarnation, the original HTC Desire, with smooth, cuving edges and a cool metal feel to the touch. However, small adjustments have been manufactured to the successor: the Desire S has lost the clickable buttons at the bottom of the handset and replaced them with touch sensitive icons, and the optical trackball has gone, too, resulting in a phone that is marginally lighter (130 grams) and smaller (115mm x 59.8mm x 11.6mm) than its predecessor.
The HTC Desire S arrives running Android 2.2 FroYo, but HTC are promising an upgrade to 2.3 Gingerbread in the near future, presumably with its excellent Sense UI spread neatly over the top.
The Desire S has a solid weight of one hundred & thirty grams with its fitted battery. Its dimensions make it easy to carry in the users pocket or to hold in a single hand as it measures 11.5cm by 5.98cm by 1.16cm. The Android operating system allows the person to enjoy new applications through the Android market, & the HTC Sense person interface provides a consumer friendly & responsive touch display experience. Due to its touch exhibit design the consumer can use a virtual keypad when inputting numeric data or a virtual keyboard for inputting alphabetic data.
A 5 megapixel colour digital camera feature allows the individual to snap a beautifully clear photo or record higher definition video clip footage. There is genuinely a variety of imaging functions & setting which allow the user to improve their photos when taking a shot, which incorporate a touch focus, image stabiliser, power LED flash light, geo tagging & photo album for photo storage. The HTC Desire S has a front facing VGA digital camera lens which is ideal for using when the person is on a 3G video clip call. For entertainment the individual can play music using the music player or hear music & more via the FM radio, plus there may be a video playback feature for playing videos & movies on the move, or the individual can take pleasure in game playing with easy to use touch show gaming controls.
The consumer can use many methods of communication on the Desire S to communicate with friends, loved ones & professionals on the move. There are many call features & options, plus a huge variety of messaging services & there is generally a friends stream for quick communication with friends & popular contacts. The Desire S has integrated Facebook & Twitter applications available for that consumer. Its messaging services consist of a text messaging service, instant messaging, multimedia picture & video messaging & a individual friendly email service. The email feature supports a push direct emails & Gmail support. The consumer can use more than one email account on their Smartphone with one inbox as the email accounts are colour coded for a visible difference between accounts.
The Desire S runs Android 2.4 (Gingerbread) out of the box, and arrives dressed in HTC's upgraded Sense UI. HTC's cleverly-crafted custom skin is actually a selling point on almost all of it's Android handsets, and its latest effort is no exception.
The battery on the Desire S has had a slight upgrade from your original Desire, boosting up from 1400 mAh to 1500 mAh, which would normally mean the phone could keep going for longer off a single charge.
An integrated assisted GPS navigation system arrives having a Google map exhibit allowing the consumer to view map directions to new location on their Smartphone. To connect to other devices a micro USB connection port on the Smartphone allows the customer to connect a compatible cable & connect to others devices to exchange data.
A Bluetooth connection is a wireless connection between two compatible devices, & this connection allows the individual to transfer data between the HTC Desire S & other devices which requires no cables, plus the two devices must be up to 10 metres apart during the transfer for this wireless connection to work.
