Springtime and Easter are occasions for making Easter Bunny crafts. They can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make them.

It’s a fun way to recycle cans, boxes, and paper or plastic bags. Using crumbled newspaper, you can stuff brown paper bags or plastic bags and turn them into rabbits. Add construction paper or card stock ears, wiggly eyes, a pink pompom nose, and pipe cleaners for whiskers. And don’t forget a fluffy tail!

Even very young children can make bunny crafts. To make the head, set out a white paper plate for your toddler, along with a bowl of white (or colored, if you want a colored bunny) cotton balls. Squeeze white glue all over the paper plate and let your youngster stick the cotton balls to the glue and completely cover the plate.

Cut 2 white card stock ears and 2 smaller pink ears to be put inside the white ears. Let your little one add 2 large wiggly eyes or make some with black and white felt. Use a pink pompom for the nose, and pipe cleaners, spaghetti strands, or clean broom straws for the whiskers.

Preschoolers can enjoy creating Easter bunnies by gluing two different sizes of styrofoam balls together. Glue one end of a popsicle stick into each ball to hold them together.

Squeeze some glue onto a disposable lid, and let your preschoolers dip cotton balls into the glue and stick them on the styrofoam balls. After they are completely covered, they can be finished with a face, ears, and a fluffy pink or blue pompom tail.

Decorate your bunny with a small straw hat, or a flower attached to the neck. Don’t forget to give it an Easter basket with some candy eggs!

Almost anything can be used to make Easter bunnies. I have seen square boxes, 2 x 4’s and even fence posts decorated to make very cute rabbits.

Get your whole family involved, and you will be amazed at the ideas they will have for crafting bunnies. And you will all have a fun time!
