Coating pans go hand-in-hand with the use of a tablet press. Let's say you have run all of your product through a tablet press to make your
confectionary delights. However, you want to add a touch of flavor to the outside of your candies in order to add another dimension to the candy lovers experience. With a coating pan, you are able to add a smooth, uniform coating on individual pieces of candy. You can add a thin veneer of chocolate, different flavored sugars, or some other edible coating to make your candy all the more delectable.
The way a coating pan works is something similar to your clothes dryer. The main part of the coater is a good-sized drum that can come with either a smooth surface or a ribbed surface depending upon the type of finished product for your candy that your looking for. The rotating drum allows the candy to tumble around inside the coating material so that all the pieces of candy can be coated in a uniform way.
For hobbyists and industrial candy makers alike, there is a wide range of selection of pans for coating candy. Believe it, or not there is a
confectionary coating pan attachment that can fit on a standard KitchenAid mixer. This attachment is a wonderful addition to the hobbyist’s collection of candy making appliances. For roughly $700, you can purchase this candy coating attachment for your KitchenAid mixer. That means you can have all the benefits of a commercial grade candy manufacturing appliance right there in your own home.
As luck would have it, your candy making hobby turns into something much bigger. Let's say you decide to open your own small business in candy making. Now you need to go with commercial grade
equipment. That's when you have to make a decision. Do you want to go with new or used equipment?
Some people say it's a better idea to go with used equipment simply because your startup costs will be less than they would be if you bought new equipment. There are a number of websites that advertise the sale of new or used candy making equipment. Often times, you'll find manufacturers who will sell directly to the small business owner.
That way you don't have to hassle with a middleman. For quality commercial grade candy coating machines, it may not be a bad idea to find a company that specializes in making tablet
coaters geared for the pharmaceutical industry. Tablet coaters used by pharmaceutical companies are manufactured to perform precision coating jobs. Translate that into the candy making industry and you'll be sure to find a coating machine that will not only provide a palate
pleasing end product, but also an aesthetically pleasing product, too.
Depending upon which manufacturer you choose to do business with, you should be able to find a used coater at a reasonable price. After doing a little research, you should be able to feel comfortable on arriving at a specific choice out of all the available coating pans.
