There are two easy ways to remove stickers from windows. The most common stickers found on windows are from post-construction and are typically the hardest to remove. Other stickers may include a child's favorite animal or comic book hero. Each type can follow these steps and will ensure no residue is left or scratch the window.
The best thing to do in order to remove stickers from a window is to first take a wet rag or towel and hold it over the sticker for about 3-5 mins. Taking time to wet the sticker allows for easy removal. Typically this does the trick and it should allow the sticker to be peeled right off. If not, follow the second step: take a safety razor blade with a handle (Found at any janitorial store) and carefully scrape the sticker off. The razor blade should be at a very acute angle on the window, which will prevent scratching. Every sticker I have come across has taken either or both of these steps.
To keep your blinds clean, there are a few tricks that most people are unaware of. To clean your blinds, simply take a damp cloth, a bucket of soapy, warm water and go over each blind. Make sure to ring the water out of the rag so that it is damp, not soaking wet. You may have to go over the blinds a few times until they are completely clean, but if you put in the hard work, you will save money and will have clean blinds. If they are metal, do not use too much force or you may take off the paint. The cloth and water are for extremely dirty blinds, and normally a dry towel or a common duster will do the job just fine.
For hard water removal, there are multiple products on the market that can solve your issues. The main point is to figure out if a sprinkler is pointed towards the window, which should be fixed before cleaning, or you'll end up cleaning more times than you should. Taking a trip to a local janitorial company will prove beneficial for you and your windows. Also if the mother-in-law happens to visit, she will appreciate the hard work trying to impress her! I typically use a special acid that removes the hardest of hard water stains and every customer has been delighted with the results. But there are many different products for hard water stains. But typically the price is around $5 or so.
Good luck and here's to clean windows!
