You think you have written a positive post or comment on a blog that you liked, but you never see it posted, or even worse, you see it for two days and it gets deleted. Have you ever wondered why this happens?

Often the reason for it not being posted has nothing to do with the quality of your post. The more likely reason is that the blog owners do not check their email messages very often, and they may have many emails requesting comment approvals. Time may be short and deleting is the easier option. If it was posted and you see it disappear, it could also be the owner just hit the wrong button by mistake (such as the spam button or the delete button, we have all done this).

If you see this happening to your posts often, then you need to see if any of these apply....

1. Leaving vague messages that are too short.

You may have truly meant it when you wrote, "Great Blog! I'm happy to have found you!" but that unfortunately is the same thing that spammers do.

To fix this: Contribute to the conversation in some way making specific reference to the conversation taking place. Perhaps agree or disagree and offer alternative points of view that add to the value of the post. You can also add something extra that you think is missing from the post.

If you cannot think of anything to say except, "Great! I like your blog!" - You really need to skip commenting at all, even if your sentiments are real. Most blog owners hold these sorts of comments in low regard.

2. You unknowingly violated the blog rule.

For instance, you include a link within your comment when the blog rules clearly state "no links in comments" or you may have used aggressive or mean language that may have offended a shy blog owner with raunchy comments.

3. You post something that is very dazzling that causes the poster to look bad, this can be especially true if it is a competitor of the blog. To put it bluntly, this is not very smart because this is like defeating your boss at golf, it just is not cool.

This does not happen often, but if you rattle your competitor too much that he or she begins deleting your posts or not even commenting on your posts, then you don't need much help with future linking methods!
