Today with rising cost of a house, a two bedroom house in some places may cost up to Rs.15 to 20 lakhs minimum and that’s bad enough but when one adds stamp duty, taxes paid on the capital interest, interior decoration, maintenance repairs and upkeep costs, one pays for twenty years and the total gets as high as 35 lakhs.
as demand of ownership upkeep and miscellaneous paying of bills may not be that enjoyable since we do this not just with money as we may think, but with our life.
We often talk and laugh about inconvenience in older days style of living and doing things but when it comes to today’s style of living we haven’t changed much in last 100 years, as demand of maintenance for our house is always increasing and time to do that is always shrinking.
In olden times one person from the family used to spend all her time cleaning maintaining and caring for the house but those days are gone. Now both family members work and time and energies left to care for the house is minimal.
In this article we will see some simple maintenance tips without any major expenses.
Maintenance reduction can be achieved by applying a smart idea at the beginning, when one is planning the interior instead of at the end when one’s been frustrated by it all for years.
Sometimes if one has decorated their house where it demands high maintenance don’t be dishearten as majority of the item used in the high maintenance house would have life not more than five years, so in next few years it will require change, at that time change to better low maintenance materials, also sometimes to do the changeover one does not have to do major structural change nor high expenses, many changes can be done immediately, some in a few weeks or months, some over the next couple of years, others can wait when kids grow and leave the house or when you retire. And lots of maintenance reducing is simple elimination, no need for changing or adding anything.
Don’t think, because you have a rented apartment you cannot apply these ideas to make living easier as lots of maintenance reducing ideas can be moved, you can take them with you to your new rented house or the new permanent house.
