Online video conferencing software enables many actions and functions when it comes to online collaboration. The reason it is such a big hit right now is because most providers and packages boast a range of functions which combined can replicate that to an offline meeting at an extremely low cost. Its timely, affordable, and makes perfect sense.

By far the best feature which technology now allows us is the full way video chat with multiple participants talking via video simultaneously. Because we now have the ability with Internet access speeds, companies are able to apply better services. Using the online video technology, providers are implementing video streaming at its best giving the conference users a truly engaging experience and a modern way of communicating from anywhere around the globe. Thats right, it is probably only now that true global communication has really been possible at an effective level. Anybody with an Internet access point can take part in this, and with dial up connections almost a thing of the past, everybody can take advantage of full way multiple video chat.

Along with the full way video chat you can perform a whole host of functions. The majority of providers see the need for online conference software and realise that in order to be successful they have to implement a range of tools within the conference room to enable an experience as close to an offline meeting as possible.

This leads me on to what else you can do with online video conferencing software. First of all it only makes sense to look at what takes place at offline meetings. First of all, most meetings use a piece of software called PowerPoint. This software is designed to show a series of slides including images, text, audio, and video. PowerPoint is highly used and recommended, so it only makes sense that conference providers enable it to be used and streamed directly in the online conference room , so all attendees can see.

Another thing you will see taking place at offline meetings is the hand out of documents. This could be the conference schedule, at the beginning, content during, or an overview, like homework, at the end. Whatever it is, the attendees always come away with something, so again, the providers had to include a function to cater for this. The file sharing function takes care of this nicely. Any file or folder containing text, images, video, PowerPoints, can easily be shared at the click of a button directly from the conference room.

Another heavily used offline meeting tool is the good old whiteboard. These tend to be for smaller meetings but have been used for many years in explanation type meetings. The online providers have developed their conference software which gives you the use of an online whiteboard. This online whiteboard gives you the same flexibility as that of an offline whiteboard. In fact, in many ways it is better.

There are other things you can perform with online video conferencing software and I will finish this article with a few. Browser sharing, desktop sharing, video sharing, full way multiple chat, multiple moderators. The list goes on.

What you can do with video conferencing software is truly amazing.

I use and endorse GVO Conference. Tried and tested many providers and packages but GVO Conference gives true flexibility and value.
