There are some general ideas out there that can really help to promote your business regardless of the industry you operate in. Some ideas will really work and will help you start thinking about how you might promote your business, and what kind of items you might want to go for. The idea is to find an item that is of some use to your potential client or customer, so that they will see the brand, image, logo, or contact information on a regular enough basis that they might eventually wish to trade with you.
Carriers
A bag for instance, is a fantastically useful gift. Reusable carrier bags that avoid the need for plastic bags clogging up your kitchen drawers are eco-friendly. Buying them in supermarkets or shops can be quite costly however, especially if you need quite a few. A unique design that makes the bag particularly useful is always of extra benefit, both for you because your item is useful and seen more, but also for the customer because they will appreciate the thoughtfulness of the design. A bag that folds down to fit inside a handbag or coat pocket proves very handy and is more likely to be carried around.
PC accessories
Any item relating to computers is always useful. Mouse mats, memory sticks, CD cases etc. are all great promotional items because they are seen regularly by anyone that might use the PC and will be seen every day by the person that uses the PC frequently. All of these items provide enough space to advertise a logo or brand, as well as contact information.
The humble umbrella
An umbrella is a highly useful promotional tool because not only is it practical and likely to be used, thus appreciated by the receiver, it serves as a walking advertisement once opened. If it begins to rain and your potential customer opens up your umbrella in the middle of the street, you can imagine how many people will see it. Items such as umbrellas are particularly clever because of the visibility they create. An umbrella can also be customized for the audience and can be bought in different colours. Better still, they are great for industries that you might loosely associate with the item, such as plumbing or roofing, because it offers a humorous connection that might be remembered by someone who sees it.
Choosing your item…………
It is important that whatever kind of item you choose, you should choose one that is thoughtful and will be appreciated. If you choose a poor quality item that is unlikely to be used then you will have wasted the opportunity. Keep your gift functional to increase its potential to be seen. If you can do this then you are not only pleasing your customers by creating a positive image of your company, but you are increasing your potential to attract business. There are many ideas to choose from so make sure you choose carefully.
