Blackberry Torch 9800 offers you three input option; the touchscreen, the trackpad and the slider keyboard. Unlike other sliders, the keyboard slides out smoothly with just a touch of your thumb. Physical keyboard has been added as people often faced problem tapping the screen especially those with thick fingers. Torch 9800 enables you to use the phone single-handedly whether typing or using the trackpad. The trackpad especially comes handy as it lets you accurately click small links on webpages. Another advantage of the physical keypad is that there is more room for a touchscreen display. The screen itself is smart and sensitive; it is highly responsive and is extremely well-designed.
The voice quality of the Blackberry Torch 9800 is excellent and with its ability to keep you connected during a call is definitely something we demand as consumers. The built in noise cancellation feature eliminate background noise effectively. Above all the opening or closing of the slider does not affect the voice quality what so ever.
The reason why people especially business people opt for a Blackberry Torch is that it brings all their contacts to the fingertips. It is an excellent device for those who constantly e-mail, message and browse the web. RIM has resolved the browsing issue in its previous models by including a web browser kit in the Blackberry Torch 9800. Now you can switch between various web pages, zoom in and out and enjoy the full experience of desktop like web browsing and complete html e–mail rendering. It also lets you wrap the text so that it fits the screen making it easy to read. You can access multiple sites and with the Universal Search option, you can locate your favorite video or scan your internet, e-mails, folders, applications and music.
Blackberry Torch 9800 comes with an inpressive 5 MP camera. The camera captures minute details and colors well and comes with features like autofocus, geo tagging, face detection and more. It also gives you more control with options like Sports, Text, Portrait, Night and Party Modes.
Torch 9800 also carries the new Social Feeds app which brings together Facebook, Google Talk, Twitter, My Space, Blackberry Messenger, and Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger all in a single place making it easier to view them either individually or collectively. This feature allows you to create new posts and post them to as many feeds as you like.
Torch 9800 will not disappoint you on the media front as well. It comes with podcast applications for locating and managing audio and video podcast and the YouTube application makes viewing and sharing videos simpler than before.
Torch 9800 is backed by a powerful battery and RIM has been pretty generous on the memory front with memory capacity up to 512 MB and 4 GB of built in storage space for your files and an additional 4 GB microSD card; the external memory can be expanded by replacing the 4 GB card with a 32 GB one.
The Blackberry Torch 9800 lives up to its reputation of being a smartphone. With the Blackberry 6 as the OS, it has overcome the hurdles that the Blackberry mobile phones faced in the past. Universal Search, Webkit browser, voice activated dialing, Bluetooth, multimedia and text messaging, access to BBM, Facebook, My Space and Twitter, Tri-band 3G connectivity and GPS navigation are some salient features of this device which have given it an edge over its competitors.
