Two of the most important elements of the New Pentax K7 DSLR is it's awesome weather-proofing, and that capability for HD Video Capture. I have not really mentioned much about either feature in earlier reviews because I'm not really that great of a video photographer and I certainly don't do expeditions to the Arctic or something like that, however maybe I missed them as a result of I pretty much use those functions. How inconsiderate of me, I apologise! Sorry I am so ordinary.

Anyway. Right here is my take.

The Pentax K7 just like the K20D, presents what can only be described as exceptional weather-proofing, unlike the D90 which doesn't have any and the Canon 50D which has weather proofing which is ineffective.

,

With the K7, even your low price range package lenses such as your 18-55 standard range and 50-200 tele lens will certainly be correctly wind water and temperature-sealed with Pentax's advanced weather proofing system, this means that you could even use it under close to arctic circumstances, as it could function down at 14 degrees fahrenheit (-10C), in comparison with just 32F/0C with other supposedly "weather-sealed" cameras on the market.

Even cameras like Canon’s 1Ds and Nikon’s D3 are nowhere near the K7 in terms of this level of functionality. This implies of course that it is a great camera in the more excessive travel circumstances, where even the most rugged "professional" cameras can typically encounter high failure rates.

Not so with the Pentax K7. It's up for almost anything.

Not just that, however as I already mentioned earlier, it's going to additionally do an incredible job of video for you in those conditions too, which is a truly awesome feature. The K7 beats out just about everyone of the competition within the midrange market section of the DSLR market, though the others as usual will attempt to play catch up, as all of the copy cats get in on the Pentax's action.

Pentax seems to be doing video more effectively than everybody else and that is beyond argument. The K7 supports your normal 1280×720p, 30fps HD, and incorporates a jack for an exterior microphone which you won't get with any of the bottom-end video-capable DSLRs.

By the way this implies you could have high-quality sound in stereo if you want. Brilliantly, the K7 makes use of the full space of the sensor and presents a 1536×1024, giving 3:2 ratio mode , instead of losing a sixth of your frame size like each different digital does when shooting a 16:9 video.

Congratulations to the Pentax K7 designers for thinking ahead of the curve.

Another nice function in video capture is the K7’s sensor-based mostly picture stabilization system, which makes the Pentax K7 DSLR a camera that provides you with awesome results. It will all the time help guys like me who perhaps have shaking hands that come as standard. I have to say since beginning to use the Pentax K7 DSLR, I've certainly seen an enormous difference. You'll notice it in the reduction of the volume of snaps you'll be deleting after a session. That's where it really matters.
