Norfolk accommodation comes in all shapes and sizes to suit almost every taste. From small guest houses to grand hotels, from caravans to quaint Norfolk cottages, from bed and breakfast to luxury apartments, from self catering to fully inclusive there is holiday accommodation for everyone. All this accommodation can be found in a wide variety of locations. You will find delightful rural hamlets in wide open countryside, riverside towns and villages, market towns, seaside resorts and large cities.
There are some grand hotels in the major built up areas of Norwich, Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn offering luxurious accommodation. Cromer, Sheringham and Hunstanton became popular destinations during the Victorian era and many of their hotels and guest houses reflect this in their architecture, some of which boast seafront locations. Some offer fine dining, such as Morston Hall which includes one of the two Michelin Star restaurants in North Norfolk. As you would expect, many of the hotels and restaurants offer seasonal local produce and freshly caught local fish on their menus.
Norfolk has a unique landscape which appeals to many different tastes. It ranges from a wide expanse of arable land with quaint villages to the coast, where cliffs can be encountered together with extensive pebbly and sandy beaches. In between you will find the Norfolk Broads, which is popular with boating enthusiasts. This is a large area of lakes and waterways, peppered with many windmills or windpumps, which boasts some of the most delightful villages in the county. Here you will find an array of characteristic bed and breakfast accommodation along with camping and caravan parks.
Many of the market towns, such as Fakenham, Dereham and Holt are great places for shopping. Other attractions include the Seal colony which can be seen on a shingle bank just off the coast at Blakeney, which was once a commercial sea port. Indeed, the town’s history stems from the sea and in the twelfth century it was a haven for piracy and lawlessness. Lowestoft, which is only just over the border in Suffolk, boasts three blue flag beaches having been awarded them for being of the highest standard. Here too you will find the Africa Alive safari park where you can see animals such as lions and cheetahs as well as birds of prey. For the children there is a farmyard petting zoo.
Whatever your desire, whatever your hobby, whatever your taste you will find suitable accommodation for your holiday here in Norfolk
