Impact Drivers Are Having An Impact On Build-It-Yourself Projects

DIY projects are fun, helpful, and money-saving ventures for most of us. Of course, the necessary tools are needed or the jobs are no fun at all.
There were actually two reasons for building an outside storage building at our newly purchased house. Actually, make that three reasons.
- You have to please your wife, right? She was not happy about my stuff taking up the entire garage. There was no room for her car in there. More space was required to preserve our sanity and our relationship.
Reason #2 was personal. I couldn't find anything the way it was all stuffed together. Doing anything around the house was taking twice as long due to the hunting part of the project. Organization couldn't happen due to the lack of space and abundance of stuff.
Last reason: cordless impact drivers. I had to have one. As is the addiction of many DIYers, I am a tool gatherer. Creating jobs just to purchase a new tool is not above me. There was no impact driver in my garage, of this I was certain. The new shed was a good reason to get one.
Creating a list of materials is always the first order of business when I start a new undertaking. I did not hesitate. I put that impact driver right at the top of the list. I would have to get this approved by the family financial director (my wife). But I had a strategy for that. Also, I am not as young as I once was, and she is always in favor of saving my stress on my body, which is a major benefit of these new tools.
I showed the list to my wife with an air of confidence that she would put her stamp of approval on it. Her first question was about the cost of the impact driver. She wanted to know if this was just another of my passing fancies. But my "health strategy" paid off, and we did get the tool.
The new impact driver has been a real blessing. It is even better than I might have thought. I can actually drive fasteners like deck screws and lag bolts all day long without feeling the stress on my arm muscles. My cordless drill weighs about twice as much as the impact driver. The impact driver is now my very favorite tool. I now look for ways to use this tool because I enjoy it so much.
The outside shed? It's done, and it has helped to get things organized. And, of course, our relationship has returned to normal, thanks to the amazing impact driver.
DeWalt has always been a trusted name in tools. The DeWalt DCF815S2 12-volt Cordless Compact Impact Driver has proven to be a strong performer.
