Granite countertops are resistant to almost any stain, they do not burn, it's very difficult to chip or break them, and they look beautiful all at the same time. You will pay considerably more money for your granite countertops (about twenty dollars more per square foot although this fluctuates), but you will be getting a return for it when you sell your home. When you have granite countertops installed in your home you can add %100 of this cost onto the selling price of your house and expect it to stick. These counters also allow you to sell the home more easily since home buyers are more likely to purchase a house which has these installed so the benefits are two fold.
Granite comes in many different colors and styles, from light colored granite to black granite, to solid colored red granite so it can fit almost any motif that you have going in your home.
