When it comes time to decorate your home you're faced with an important decision; where should you start and what will get the most bang for the buck? When you look at all of the different options it can be a very overwhelming task, but the good news is that studies have shown where you can get the most for your money by investing in certain areas. One of the best places to begin is in the kitchen. The kitchen is known to be one of the most important areas of a house when it comes time to resell it. If the rest of the house looks great but you have a kitchen that is full of older style equipment, flooring or counters then you may be losing out on the deal.
One of the quickest ways to transform your kitchen is by installing new countertops and replacing the older outdated counters that your house most likely came from. Most houses have laminate counters, which can be good for many reasons and work great for certain houses. However, statistics have shown that a house is more likely to sell when it has real, natural, hard counters like granite or quartz. Granite countertops are quickly becoming one of the most sought out counters in the real estate business and for good reasons. Granite countertops are resistant to almost any stain, they do not burn, it's very difficult to chip or break them, and they look beautiful all at the same time. You will pay considerably more money for your granite countertops (about twenty dollars more per square foot although this fluctuates), but you will be getting a return for it when you sell your home. When you have granite countertops installed in your home you can add %100 of this cost onto the selling price of your house and expect it to stick. These counters also allow you to sell the home more easily since home buyers are more likely to purchase a house which has these installed so the benefits are two fold.
Granite comes in many different colors and styles, from light colored granite to black granite, to solid colored red granite so it can fit almost any motif that you have going in your home. So if you’re looking for a way to make an impact to the appearance and value of your house, consider granite countertops and get a return on your investment.
