The attack to the Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon had a terrible impact not only on American society as a whole but also in the corporate environment as well. Business owners and managers of large international corporations, medium sized companies and small business organizations soon realized that it was of utmost importance for them to provide their staff members with a secure working environment and that having them properly identified was a basic step to do so. Thus, the most popular card printer manufacturers such as Evolis, Zebra, Magicard or Fargo started to develop card printer models that were increasingly powerful, more affordable and more compact so that almost every company could have their own.
Card printing instruments have proven to be over time highly convenient office gadgets. So much so that today is almost undeniable for a business owner or manager that is much more advantageous to produce the ID cards his organization needs in house in relation to having them made by an outsourced designer and professional printing company.
On the first place, card printers are convenient for business organizations because they help them keep each of their staff members clearly identified and efficiently distinguish them from visitors, guests and strangers. In addition, co workers can develop a stronger bond between them as they find it easier to learn each other’s names and areas of work.
On the second place, card printers enable business owners and managers issue in house ID badges that help them keep close track of employees’ attendance, punctuality and whereabouts.
What is more, card printers can be used to produce highly sophisticated employee ID badges that can even help them control who has access to otherwise restricted areas.
But card printers cannot only be used for access and identification purposes. Small business companies and retail stores many a time have their own card printer as part of their marketing strategy. They use this device to produce loyalty cards, gift cards or discount cards for their clients and customers thus enhancing their brand awareness and increasing their sales rate. In this way, these companies that do not have a large budget to devote to advertising their services and products in the mass media can trust in their pampered clients to put a good mouth forward for them.
Another practical and convenient use that many companies have found for card printers is to create hard labels for those documents that have to be stored but need anyway to be properly identified.
