We are living in dangerous times, and must accept the challenging task of protecting our homes and our businesses from miscreants at all times. There is one piece of technology that assists us and makes our job easier - a security camera. Read on to know what sort of advanced cameras are now available in the market!
You have seen security cameras everywhere. They are in your office, the bank, the mall, even at the Church and the local basket ball court. Walking underneath them, you must have wondered, 'who is watching me?' Well, that is the power of the lens- it pierces your privacy, makes you feel exposed. This is the same feeling an intruder gets when they come anywhere near your property. Many criminals are deterred from committing crimes if they know that a camera is recording them. Cameras have also been instrumental in nabbing crooks. This is why authorities recommend outfitting your home and office locations with at least one camera. Over time, these cameras have evolved and are now available with optional features to fit your various requirements. Outdoor-indoor-moving-fixed or open or hidden, whatever be your requirements, you can easily get a camera custom fitted for the same.
Here are the types of cameras available in the market these days:
Dome Cameras:
These are fixed cameras that reside mostly on interior ceilings. The protective glass casing is usually smoked, to prevent the visitor from guessing if the camera is recording or not. Dome security cameras are very easy to install, they are weatherproof, and have day and night viewing modes. These security cameras record in color during the day and Black and White at night. You can install a dome camera almost anywhere, using dome mounts such as pendant and recessed mounts.
Bullet Cameras:
The shape of these cameras defines their name. They are highly recommended for surveillance systems, due to their compact shape and size. They come with a limited or a fixed focal length and are really small (2 to 2.5 inches long). These cameras are perfect for small spaces like the store or the lift. Bullet cameras are also called lipstick cameras.
Specialty Cameras:
Your requirement may vary, and you may have unique security concerns, for which specialty cameras are required. Some of them may be: underwater video cameras, snake cameras, peephole cameras, smoke detector cameras, pinhole broad lens high resolution spy cameras and corner cameras.
Standard Body Cameras:
As far as cheap security cameras go, standard body cameras are perfect for outdoor and indoor use. They have special features like wide dynamic range, back light compensation and in some cases, a large zoom lens. One more thing about these cameras is that their lenses are sold separately, allowing your choice of different types of lenses according to your requirements - Autoiris, Varifocal, and Fixed.
PTZ Camera:
PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) cameras are a good choice for protecting your home and office. They are programmed as motion and sound detectors too, as they can detect movement and then can follow its source in the video field. These are the smart choice of many customers these days, as you can connect these cameras with motion sensors and lights, so that when someone approaches both the lights come on and the camera begins recording. Notch up the security of your property by choose any of the cameras described above to wade off intruders.
