TripSketch offers a city guidebook for the world's most popular cities. Most city guides are about $5 to $6 per city. Tripsketch charges this for 80+ cities, including all popular attractions and those with green travel bias. So this is a fabulous deal for professional, curated content. Developers plan to donate part of the proceeds to charity.
TripSketch Green traveler is an award winning app for the environmentally conscious traveler. It presents eco-friendly activities and experiences in over 80 cities across Canada, Europe, US, Asia and Oceania to enhance your travel experience while reducing your carbon footprint. TripSketch also highlights all the popular attractions for the city, ensuring that travelers are alerted with not only the green activities but all the popular sights, as well as restaurants and tours. It provides all the essential information such as addresses, descriptions, opening hours, prices, etc.
When you first launch the tool, it asks you to confirm that it is okay to access location information, as well as the calendar in you mobile device. The app uses GPS technology to pin point your location. You can scroll through the cities displayed, and pick a city that interests you. Click on any of the categories to see what is available to you. Within each listing, you will find a well-written description, as well a link to the relevant website in case you want to look for further information, and you can find the location of the venue on a map.
Use the green book as your mobile city guide to browse for nearby attractions and activities that interest you, then simply tap "Add to calendar" to schedule the event in a digital calendar. To make a hotel reservation, you can tap "Website" and navigate to the hotel site for pricing and booking details, or simply tap "call" if you have cellphone coverage. To view the location, and the directions to the hotel click on "Map".
TripSketch is a valuable trip-planning tool and has content that is both useful and informative. You can feel good about your purchase, as TripSketch will contribute 20% of the purchase price to social projects profiled in the green book. No network access is required to access the in-app features, as all the information included in the application is downloaded to your mobile. TripSketch is the perfect city guide for the green traveler, and all for less than the price of a single city guidebook.
