If you are living near the equator and in any place where humidity is a frequent occurrence, then you know what I am on about. This is the time of the year where the heat practically turns the air muggy and heavy. It frizzes your hair and dampens everything in sight including your mood. Well if you want to remedy that problem, an avfuktare (as the Swedes would call it) or a dehumidifier will do wonders to a very stuffy room.
But before we get some info about dehumidifiers, let us know first what ill effects too much humidity has. Well for one as mentioned above, it can really dampen anybody’s mood because it leaves you all stuffy and damp. That is because it leaves us feeling uncomfortable. You can’t get any sleep because of such a discomfort and sometimes you would wake up all sweaty and tired. It can also slow down the drying of your laundry. Furthermore, many insects like the humid environment, so you are practically inviting them to live with you. Worst of all is that it can cause a big health risk to you and your loved ones because excess humidity is a perfect Petri dish for molds and fungus to grow.
Now that you know the bad things about excess humidity, time to give you the info about dehumidifiers. An avfuktare basically works by sucking in moist air and removes the excess moisture through condensation. It then releases comfortable dry air into the room.
The benefits that you will get from one are great. The main one is that health risks are eliminate since molds and fungus are not a problem anymore. Your house wont all of a sudden collapse on you head. Wave bye-bye to insects as they won’t be staying in your home anymore. But best of all, you get to save energy and money too. That is so because you no longer have to adjust the thermostat when the room becomes stuffy. So less energy usage, more money saved. These are just some of the benefits that you can get from an avfuktare.
Some tips in using this portable device: don't keep it on the entire day and when it is turned on, keep the windows closed. Make sure that the exhaust port is not covered and keep it away from sources of dirt and soil to avoid clogging the filters. You have to ensure that the exhausts are not being obstructed and that sources of dirt are away from the machine so that it won’t get clogged up. Make sure that you clean the filters regularly to keep the machine working properly. Also you can use the grey water that the machine collects to water your plants. So you save water and decrease your carbon footprint.
If you are asking if you need one, then answer these questions. Do you have a family member who ahs allergies to mold and fungus? Is your house stuffy and has a heavy felling in the air? Are the things in your house getting wet? Are insects squatting in your cupboards? If you answered yes to all these questions, then maybe you should consider buying an avfukatre. It will do wonders to your home.
