What kind of software do you need for recovery of deleted files, partitions and any data on your hard drive? It should be easy to use, with good functionality and useful features. Your search may be longer then you are thinking.
But I can help you. I know one software which has above-listed merits. It purpose is to recover deleted files and it is called Active@ UNDELETE. Even if your system is not bootable and you cannot attach the damaged hard disk drive to another computer, the only way to recover your data is to use Active@ UNDELETE.
Active@ UNDELETE works under Windows XP / VISTA / Windows 7 / Server 2003 / Server 2008 operating systems and can recover deleted files, folders and partitions.
Also besides being an undelete files software Active@ UNDELETE can create a disk image for safe data restoration, perform an Advanced Scan and organize the result using Document View and Recovery Toolkit , write recovered data directly to a CD/DVD avoiding dangerous hard drive activity, perform batch file recovery, virtually reconstruct broken or disassembled RAID arrays and many others.
For example we need to restore damaged or deleted files and folders.
We run Active@ UNDELETE. Its interface is very easy to use. In "My Computer" tab in Recovery Explorer tree there are list of logical drives (including detected deleted partitions, see Recover Files and Folders from Deleted Partitions) organized in groups by Data Storage Devices. Not only existing logical drives can be scanned for files but also detected partitions, virtual drives or even drives from assembled RAIDs.
First of all you scan a selected drive. For this task you click Default Scan button in Recovery Explorer ("My Computer" tab) toolbar or Right-click the selected logical drive. Then click Scan from the context menu or double click on logical drive to open a Scan Logical Drive dialog.
In Scan Logical Drive dialog you select one of the scan methods you wish to perform. You can choose a Quick Scan (recommended) - quick and sufficient in most scenarios or Low Level Scan - where files will be detected by a unique file signature.
For Low Level Scan click Options button to specify file signatures to be detected during the scan. Specify a path (optionally) where scan results will be saved after scan completes.
Remember: do not select folder to save scan results on drive you about to scan!
Then click Scan button to start scanning the logical drive. The last step is a reviewing and organizing scan results.
Depending on which scan type (Quick or Low Level) was selected you will receive scan results in different format. In any case you will be able to review scan results in Recovery Explorer ("My Computer" tab) and sort them by using tools Active@ UNDELETE provides (File Filter, Search and Document View). In general, you need to find and select files you wish to recover and proceed with actual recovery.
When files you seeking for are discovered, you can recover them to local computer, network drive or even burn them to CDDVD media. Click Recover to start recovery of selected files.
That's it! You data is recovered. We spend about 5 minutes.
