LedgersOnline is a company I came across on my search for different forms of online document management. Entering their homepage I saw four services ranging from full cycle bookkeeping to accounting application hosting to online document management for bookkeeping and accounting records. I thought it was a great concept and I wanted to see what it had to offer so I signed up to test it.

Working through the design is was clean and simple with a colour scheme that worked very well. As a Beta application I was surprised by the amount a features it had in the release all running exceptional well. From the dashboard bookkeepers, accountants and business owners could easily and securely invite people to their project. The online application comes with preloaded folders but they can be renamed to folder names such as bank statements and payables. There were tabs that helped working through the application and breadcrumbs were located at the top of the page to track your location. Files could be easily viewed within the application rotated and zoomed in while notes could be attached to files to tell a user the status of the file to encourage better collaboration overall. Another nice feature is the ability to send your documents (receipts) as you get them from any location and attach a note from your phone as easy as sending an email. The body of the email became the note and this worked impressively well.

Although it’s still in Beta this online application works exceptionally well. Overall Online Document Management from ledgersOnline is a must and will be an essential tool for accountants, bookkeepers and business owners in the future to organize and share records securely anytime anywhere.
