What has happened in the current real estate markets is unprecedented. Massive decreases in value, nationwide. Thousands and thousands of foreclosures. Rampant economic blight in neighborhoods. Families forced out of their beloved homes…
The scene in American real estate is ugly and it may get uglier still. What has happened is the result of a lot of people making a lot of bad decisions, all within a few short year's time. Control: All contractors understand the importance of maintaining control on a jobsite. If they don't have control, things become inefficient. The same applies to real estate investing and rehabbing homes. The effectiveness of the operation is directly tied to the degree of control they exercise over the operation. Control equals cheaper and more efficient. And more money.
Knowledge: Contractors understand creation of value in a home. They understand what renovations will cost, how the renovations will affect the rest of the home, and how the renovation translates to value for a prospective buyer. Contractors have experiential knowledge in these areas, and this knowledge is power for real estate investing.
Business: When a contractor buys a home, he is buying a job. When he rehabs a home, he is working a job. When he sells a home, he is generating profit for his job. Real estate investing to a contractor is as natural as selling vitamins is to a chiropractor. It augments what he already does. Every contractor should be trying his hand in the lucrative and satisfying business of real estate investing.
