People are traveling more by car these days, with pets in tow. It is affordable and makes it possible for people to bring their pets with them rather than putting them in a kennels. However there is a drawback to traveling with pets: not all hotels or resorts allow pets on the premises. Planning ahead is a must – find out who takes pets, sizes allowed, fees, and if can you leave them while you tour around.
There is one Sedona, Arizona luxury hotel that not only accepts pets but welcomes them with open arms. El Portal Sedona Hotel is the original pet friendly hotel in Sedona, where there is never a charge for your pet, and El Portal now has started a new Pet Day Care.
If your pet is a good citizen, well mannered, and of good moral background, the staff at this Sedona hotel will keep an eye on your best friend while you are out and about taking in the sights. No other hotel in Arizona offers free pet-sitting. El Portal has fenced pet patios and yards, so your pet will be safe and well cared for. Oak Creek is close by for exercise and fun, while the hotel is located in a quiet and secluded neighborhood.
According to owner Steve Segner, the pet friendly bed and breakfast started the service "because our customers travel with pets, and we want to make their trip to Sedona memorable, not to worry about what to do with their canine companion." "We will keep an eye on the dog; all we ask for is a cell phone number in case of an emergency. We can walk, water, feed them, whatever they would like us to do, so they can go and have fun without worry."
Guests at El Portal have access to unique concierge services for Sedona and area. The staff, led Segner, will personally help guests plan their day, from hiking to wine tours to a trip to the Grand Canyon. Many of the hiking trails allow pets; however, pets are not welcomed on wine tours, hot air balloon rides, and many other attractions. Leashed pets are allowed on trails above the rim at the Grand Canyon, Mather Campground, Desert View Campground, and Trailer Village and throughout the developed areas, but not below the rim, in park lodging or on park buses. El Portal has its own jeep tour company, and is happy to have your pet aboard.
Having a reputable and caring place to leave your pet is important, not only for the well being of your pet, but also for your own peace of mind. You’re on vacation to relax, unwind, and enjoy yourself and the beauty of Sedona, not to worry if your dog is being walked or fed. El Portal staff will work with you to make sure your dog is cared for. They can also recommend a wide variety of pet-related services and resources in Sedona, such as veterinary care, grooming, pet supplies and off-leash dog parks.
So think of El Portal Sedona Hotel for your next Sedona Arizona vacation, and leave the pet sitting to them!
El Portal Sedona Hotel is a pet friendly hotel where guests can enjoy Sedona and area in historic yet luxurious surroundings, with their "best friend." Each guest suite includes a private entrance, patio, fireplace, whirlpool bath and WiFi. At this Arizona luxury hotel quintessential service is considered an integral part of the serenity of the Southwest experience.
