Smartec STR-0883 network DVR records and transmits video over the network in H.264 at up to 200 fps of recording speed. Herewith digital video recorder can transmit high-definition video with Full HD (1920x1080 pix.) resolution on the primary monitor output. STR-0883 is equipped with SATA hard disk drive (with the ability to install 2 additional HDDs), DVD-RW, two USB-ports and eSATA/iSCSI interfaces. In addition, 8 channel DVR allows the operator to control PTZ-cameras operation, and also has alarm inputs/outputs, motion detection and HDMI. New 8 channel model is bundled with RAS+ for remote management and configuration.
Each DVR of this series can record and transmit video over the network with up to Full D1 (720x576 pix.) resolution at up to 200 fps recording speed. For the rational disk space usage 8 channel DVR allows the operator to set the optimal record mode: Continuous, Scheduled, Event, Pre-/Post Alarm and Emergency recording with the highest quality. Due to the audio inputs, STR-0883 can record and transmit video images synchronized with audio signal.
Video recording and storage is carried out on the built-in hard disk drive. To increase archive capacity DVR allows the operator to install up to 2 additional SATA HDDs or use external storage systems. Thus, using eSATA port 8 channel DVR can be connected to the DAS-arrays, which are effective solution for small and medium-sized archive extension. If necessary, the operator can drastically increase archive capacity with network SAN-storage, which is connected to 8 channel model via iSCSI port. Video backup is available on DVD/CD with built-in DVD-RW or external USB devices.
STR-0883 is equipped with multiple video outputs, enabling the operator to conduct full visual analysis of the footage from security cameras. In particular, 8 channel DVR has HDMI/VGA/BNC interfaces, as well as Spot-output for monitor connection (with the ability to configure its settings, transmit alarm video in full screen mode or images from security cameras). HDMI-output of this DVR can be used for Full HD monitor connection, which ensures video transmission without digital-analog conversion.
High reliability of STR-0883 is achieved by using S.M.A.R.T. technology, which permanently monitors current HDD status. In case of HDD malfunction, 8 channel DVR immediately "informs" the operator about the accident to find appropriate solution and ensure the safety of important information. In addition, Smartec DVR allows the operator to restrict access to the archive video content both for network and local levels, using system of passwords and user rights division.
To implement the security functions 8 channel DVR is equipped with hardware motion detection with 5 levels of sensitivity, 192 detection zones and the possibility of a retrospective video search. It also features a notification system for camera lens abuse. For each alarm event DVR allows the operator to set an appropriate response: to activate the buzzer and/or the executive device, to generate and send an e-mail notification with alarm images or display an alarm message for the operator.
Using RS-485 interface, 8 channel model can control PTZ-cameras operation through front-panel buttons, IR remote control, USB-mouse or Smartec STT-2405U external telemetry keyboard. In addition, 8 channel DVR is equipped with RS-232 interface for operation with POS/ATM-terminals. Text information, transmitted from these terminals, can be used as a parameter to search video archives.
An important advantage of Smartec DVR is its free RAS+ software, which can be used for deployment geographically distributed CCTV systems with centralized control. This software enables the operator to view current and archive video (up to 64 video channels), supports alarm outputs and PTZ-cameras operation control. MapEditor software module can create 3D maps, visually displaying where the location of 8 channel DVR and CCTV cameras. To manage CCTV system via mobile devices it is recommended to use RAS + Mobile application.
