Megabus Overnight Sleeper Coach

"England is a green & pleasant land" quote William Blake. From stunning coastlines to bustling city life and rural towns to historic villages and markets, the United Kingdom is a great destination for any traveller. London has been the starting point for many travellers wishing to travel and see other parts of the UK. With many international connections via its 5 airports and Eurostar Railway Station at Kings Cross, it is easy to find a route to London and then journey on to different parts of the country by coach, rail or air.

If you are restricted for time it is usually best to catch a train or plane to your destination, but if you are more adventurous then the good old coach is surely something you should give a try. Back in the day, The horse drawn stagecoach services used to be the main mode of transport for long distance travel until the arrival of the railways in 1830s and 1840s. The railways changed the way we travelled but the stagecoach and charabancs, as they were known, had always remained the people’s form of transport and continued to be used for short journeys and excursions until the 1950s. From its early origins, coach travel has come a long way and till today it is still a cheaper and more flexible mode of transport giving those who travel by it a great taste of freedom and exploration.

The recently launched budget sleeper coach by Stagecoach brings this form of travel into the 21 Century. A trial of the overnight sleeper coach service is to run between Glasgow and London and is to feature 24 bed berths, budget fares, free Wi-Fi, toilets and on-board refreshments. There are safety and security measures on board including CCTV and an emergency button to alert the driver. Every coach also meets the Transport for London’s new Low Emissions Zone (LEV) requirements making it a safe and environmentally friendly way to travel.

Stagecoach Group Chief Executive, Sir Brian Souter, said: "Travelling overnight is a great way to save time, and we’ve already seen growing demand for our night-time megabus.com journeys. The new sleeper services will offer extra comfort and facilities, but still at excellent value for money prices. Fares for a sleeper berth will range from £1 to £40 (all reservations are subject to a 50p booking fee)

Megabus.com is the UK’s primary budget inter-city coach service and operated its services from its main hub at Victoria Coach Station in London. Victoria is a popular address for business and leisure travellers and is also home to Buckingham Palace, the most famous royal palace in the world.
