Acer has entered into the market with its range of tablets and notebooks. Laden with impressive features, elegant, stylish and practical designs and compact size, these new tablets by Acer are convenient to carry without having to compromise on all the important features offered by a tablet. Some of the latest models are 25.65 cm in length, 17.7cm in width and about 1.33cm in thickness, have an interesting look with dual-core 1GHz processor, a LCD capacity screen resolution of 1280x800, multi ports, and 1080 HDMI output.
The Iconia Tab A series has multi touch-screen supports enclosed with black bezel and a classic shiny aluminum chassis. The tablets are lightweight, small, and hence very much portable. It is powered by tablet-specific Android™ operating system and the latest version of Google’s Android Honeycomb. These models are much cheaper and readily available for mass consumption as compared to the expensive tablets released by Samsung or Apple’s iPad. Acer has released a Wi-Fi only Iconia A500 model and a 3G enabled Iconia A501 models as two variants with differing market prices.
These tablets are designed to replace laptops with majority of the laptop application enabled in these devices including the provision of both microSD card slot and a USB port, custom home widgets that features application organizations, Dolby Mobile audio support, Google Movies, Google Music, games and social networking in accelerated speeds. Stylish Design
Sleek and small, the Iconia Tab has black bezel, silver edges and a glossy aluminum chassis giving it a metallic look. A conveniently placed smart volume rocker (with alternating up and down volume keys depending upon the Portrait/Landscape method of using the Tab), and rotation lock are also visibly articulated and designed for easy location and use. Similarly, microSD slots, SIM card slots, USB ports, and the power/sleep button with multiple LED lightings provide a distinct functional reminder while charging.
The Iconia Tab Performance:
The Iconia Tab is powered by 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 250 dual-core processor with 1GB RAM. It has an internal storage capacity of 16GB with an expandable additional storage of up to 32 GB.
The display is bright and colorful with 80% view angle. 16:10 aspect ratio with HD contents makes photo and video viewing a whole new experience. These models usually include a GPS, a gyroscope for gaming purposes, voice activated search features, accelerometer, a compass, Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi connectivity, built-in 2 MP front HD and a full multi-touch support webcam for video chatting and conferencing, and a 5Mp rear camera with a flash.
Multimedia Functions:
The Iconia Tab has a pair of stereo speakers and a built-in Dolby Mobile audio output. The device can also play a 720p HD video and 1080p micro-HDMI video files with amazing clarity and color balance. The multimedia function is further empowered with apps like Acer Zone, Acer’s own Photo Browser 3D, NemoPlayer, Youtube, Clear.fi enabling media organizing and sharing, MusicA, SocialJogger, Facebbok, Twitter, and several Game Zone links.
Battery Life:
The multimedia functions provided by these Tablets are duly supported by two 3260mAh Li-polymer batteries with a strong battery life lasting more than 8 hours.
